We love Daddy

Daddy Cuddle
Originally uploaded by epmdesigner.
Well, it was an event-filled weekend! Our Saturday included a trip to the ER (boooo, hisss!) and a trip to see the Nowak/Moore Clan (Hoooray!!! as Leah would say). We woke up early in the morning Saturday so we could hit the road to Grandma's house. Leah wakes up at 6am sharp most every morning so it's not like we have a choice! Pete decided to be a model husband and do some dishes, but apparently 6:30 in the morning is way to early to wash a 10" Henckels Chef knife. He sliced open his left hand pretty badly. Leah cried and we all raced to the hospital. Poor Pete. He survived 3 layers of stiches and his hand is all bandaged up. The cut was so deep he needs to see a hand surgeon, but he has been doing really well in the meantime. Leah also did her best to be a patient girl, although she was concerned for her Daddy, and tried to behave as we waited for him.

Once we got through with the hospital, we headed up to visit with Pete's family. It was a great time. We grilled out and ate some of the best steak I've ever had!!! Yum!!! I'll post pictures of our visit as the week goes on. Leah really enjoyed playing outside with her cousins and spending time with her Grandma, Aunt and Uncle. Leah was also sure to comfort her ailing Daddy when she could. This hug here was after she woke up from a nap at Grandma's house. Leah and Pete had a rare but long (and much needed cuddle session). What a sweet girl!

Pete, you're supposed to only use that thing on food. Note to self, keep this thing away from human flesh, especially hand.

Feel better soon, dude.

Got back from the doctor and she said I was the luckiest man she had ever met. No nerve, muscle, or arterial damage. Normally, that type of cut is what she refers to as a "surgical-trifecta" for repair work.

I'm going out to buy lottery tickets after work.

And you bought me Henckel knives as a wedding gift!!! I am not going to be following your lead anytime soon... Glad you're ok. Stupid sharp things.
