So after we tortured our child with Santa and let her have a nap, we took her out to the Christmas in Strathmore Festival. There was an awesome family snowman making contest, games for kids of all ages, and popcorn and hot cocoa. Pete sold wreaths and Leah and I scoped out the scene. We got to hang with friends and even meet Frosty (aka my neighbor Sue)!
Pete took this shot and got a real kick out of it. Leah was a little freaked out at first ("Geez Mom! How many oversized Christmas characters can a baby take in one day?), but once Sue started talking in the cute little voice she always uses with Leah, the babe calmed down. Leah still didn't want Frosty to get too close, but hey...at least she's looking at him in the picture! As you can see I decided to go for it full smile here, in hopes that it would get Leah smiling too. Sue (I mean Frosty!) tried to play the old peek-a-boo card with Leah, but as Pete pointed out it looks more like Leah just made the big snowman feel rejected and cry. It's sort of funny how pictures can tell a totally different story then they were meant to sometimes.
